Considering the four display options I mostly use, there are many variations particularly with respect to print size, and if using traditional framing, the size of the mat. I rarely conform to “standard” sizes, a relic of film days. Most of the time, the shape of the image I like does not fit into the shape of an 8″ x 10″ or an 11″ x 14″ print. Sometimes cropping the image may conform to standard sizes; sometimes not.
The following chart shows a price comparison baseline for four different image sizes using the four different display options.
|Image Size||Gator Board||Metal Frame
(typical frame size)
|Maple Box Frame w/
|8 x 10||$20.00||$35.00 (12×14)||$50.00||$50.00|
|12 x 18||$35.00||$80.00 (18×24)||$70.00||$80.00|
|16 x 24||x||$120.00 (22×30)||x||$110.00|
|24 x 36||x||$180.00 (22×30)||x||$225.00|
x: The unavailable options in the above chart are due to the 13×19 size of Gator Board I order. In order to be able to mount larger size prints, I would need to order pricey full 32×40 sheets. Not impossible, however; contact me if you are interested in a custom price quote.
Please contact me if you would like to see one of my images on a wall in your home and/or office. We can discuss the size you require and the display option that makes the most sense for you. Pretty much everything I do is custom, so I do not use an ordering website where you have a limited number of options to pick. I would also be happy to work with you if you have a special image you would like to have printed.
